Ancient and authentic Roman Ring, 1st century BC/ 3rd century AD, in solid silver. It is adorned with an oval setting in Carnelian with an intaglio of 3 letters: "FEL". The meaning of these 3 letters remains to be defined, it could be the abbreviation of FELIX which means "happy" in Latin. The setting rests on a rectangular bezel with no decoration.
The shoulders of the ring are wide, simple, ending in a kind of point that connects with the thinner ring. This is a characteristic feature of Roman rings between the 1st century BC and the 3rd century AD. Condition: Very good, can be worn, cleaned by a professional. Inner diameter: 57.5 on the ring sizer. Dimensions of the Carnelian: 1.1 cm x 0.8 cm.
