Antique Silver Tea Strainer 800 Mask Decoration Italy. This precious antique tea strainer - or infuser filter - is made of solid silver. This tea strainer is stamped "800" for solid silver at 800/1000 and "971 AI" for the Italian silversmith.

Round in shape, the strainer is adorned with perforated holes. The handles are decorated with masks, grimacing faces surrounded by openwork scrolls. It is placed on the cup to filter the tea leaves infused in the teapot. In very good condition, this tea strainer weighs 31 g and measures 9 cm in width x 6 cm in diameter x 1.5 cm in height. There are signs of usage scratches and traces of oxidation to note.
