Old Regional Cross of Beaufortain with Solid Silver Heart, Vermeil, Savoie

  

In vermeil (solid silver plated with gold). With its pendant loop on the neck chain. Hallmarks: boar’s head, goldsmith’s mark, and others (see photos). Dimensions of the cross including the bail and pendants. Dimensions of the neck chain: 15 mm x 13 mm.

Total weight: 4.4 g. In very good condition, little worn.

Note a small impact mark (slight dent) on the back of the neck chain, at the edge of one of the three holes (last photos), probably made during hallmarking (on the back near the boar’s head).
