Antique Solid Silver Sewing Kit Oran Algeria L. Beria #K29

  

A charming 4-piece embroidery/sewing set (missing 1 piece) in solid silver, with boar’s head hallmarks visible on the thimble and needle case (see photos). The other 2 pieces have no visible hallmark but have been tested.

Louis XV / Rococo style workmanship with rich leaf and scroll decoration.

A pair of scissors (steel blades, silver rings).

A matching thimble with a decorated border.
A silver-handled awl (or lace threader).
A richly chiselled needle case.

Overall in good condition for its age. Please note slight signs of use on the scissor blades and a small crack/deformation on one of the handles (see detailed photo).

The case is original, covered in brown leather on the outside and blue velvet/white silk on the inside. The inside of the lid bears the jeweler’s mark: L. Beria - Bijoutier - 20 Boulevard Seguin - ORAN. There is also an old handwritten inscription in ink.
