


Rare antique piece of French silverware in solid silver, made by the silversmith Alfred François Marie Quantin. He was active in Niort in the 19th century and was known for the quality of his work. It includes a finely crafted CHATELAINE-style clasp/brooch mount. The design is decorated with floral and foliage motifs.
The piece has a suspension hook for a chain. Minerva hallmark and diamond-shaped mark with A Q L and a horse’s head facing left, marked JR. It comes with its chain and rings, also hallmarked (the horse’s head part of the diamond mark can be seen).A magnificent 19th-century piece in very good used condition. Rare to find with all the parts together and clearly hallmarked. Measures 63.5 cm including the rings.
